I couldn't oppose slipping into the freezing pool wearing my sexy shortie wetsuit, cute pink fins and split-screen dive mask. I've done lots of above-surface dive mask filling… but now it's time to practice underwater. I back drop clumsily into the cold water and submerge, filling my mask with water. Blowing bubbles from my nose helps to push a lot of it out — but not all. With my mask half filled, water sploshes around my eyes, making it tricky to see. After a few tries I start getting the hang of it. Then I switch to my favourite oval dive mask. It's perfect for filling above water, but underwater it holds so much liquid it takes huge breaths to clear. The streams of bubbles escaping inside the mask look incredible.
